DBN Beachfront

I know - It has been ages since I last wrote!  I have decided to pick up where I left off. Life has taken a different turn and now with two boys we are constantly looking for activities and adventures to share with them.  Today's adventure was waking up early and heading through to DBN Beachfront. We arrived just before 8am and easily got a table at Circus Circus next to Mini Town. There was plenty of parking and no ques anywhere.

Circus Circus has an excellent menu and food and service was great. There is a nice little children's area at the back and we were very comfortable.  We went to the bike shop next door and hired bikes and we headed off towards Ushaka Marine World. It was a nice easy ride and Tom our 4 year old managed well on his own little bike.  We explored right up to harbour pier but could not get onto it as it was closed due to construction.

We loved our morning ride!  Boys slept on the way home in the car and it was all done and dusted before lunch time! Highly Recommended!

Sunday Lunch

Sunday Lunch with family is one of those feel good times that I always look forward to and never get tired of. I would do it every Sunday if it was only up to me!

It is one of the few occasions where it does not matter where you are, how you dress or what you eat - its just great to be together and you almost always have a wonderful time!

Today was perfectly suited to a hot lunch and Rog pulled out all the stops to spoil us with a delicious meal. I peeled the potatoes and steamed the veg and you know how wrong that can go so I must have done something rightJ.  Rog tells me that I must stay away from “that hot thing” in the kitchen because it will hurt me – how rude!

Lazy Sundays are definitely on my top 10 list of feel good activities  - hope it was a fab one for you!

Kalk Bay

Spent 3 awesome days in Kalk Bay this week with Friends and Family - just love that place!

Earth Hour

I feel like I have been camping for an hour. Earth Hour could not have come at a less convenient time, I had just finished setting up my blog and was rearing to go when my alarm went off reminding me of earth hour. I lit all my candles, turned off all the lights and computers and then stood and starred at the air conditioner remote for a few seconds before deciding that it too would have to go off if I was to continue guilt free.  I then opened up our sliding doors and started reading my book in the candle light. I forgot how lovely the sounds of the night are right here at home and it felt for a little while like I was on a mini holiday.

"On Saturday 27 March, Earth Hour 2010 became the biggest Earth Hour ever. A record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet."

Let hope tonight had an even better response! What a beautiful world we have - let hope we are all able to "go beyond the hour" like they say.

Night Night!
